Insanity Is The Order Of The Day

31 October 2010

This will be my last coherent post for the next….. 31 days. I'll still post on the same schedule, but I may have a unavoidably psychotic accent. Why is that? Because it's time. That time of the year when men and women who will forever call themselves "novelists" are forged in the ink of the written word, and are separated from the boys and girls still dreaming of such a day.

It's been on some people's calendars all year long (I'm a late comer to the game but a contestant all the same), but now it's here. No more time for talk. It's NaNoWriMo time. It's game time.

Accomplishments Of All Kinds

27 October 2010

I started writing today with an accomplishment in mind, but my reason for posting changed a little when I read/saw a news story that's close to my heart these days. Be A Man, Man

24 October 2010

It's been on my mind a lot lately, mainly because I see it everywhere I go. Men seem an awful lot less awesome than they once  were. I think that's why you see two things happening.

Man-crushes on popular male lead roles in action films like 300, Gladiator, and Taken. The wide acceptance and clamor for bromances like I Love You Man and Pineapple Express.

It's that time of the year when certain changes begin to take place in the world and the lives of men everywhere are simultaneously affected. It's a sad time marking the end of an era of fun and the beginning of wearing multiple layers. You know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the approach of winter time. I'm talking about the death of barbecue season.

A moment of silence, please. (more…)

17 October 2010

I’m trying to be a Business, man! It’s been up for a little while now but I wanted to draw some attention to the little red and white button above. The one that says Youtube. I’m on deck and I want to make a name for myself.

Words On The Burner Theory

13 October 2010

Todays words from the digital man cave are a special post about a theory that has been discussed in various circles, and in various ways. It’s called the Burner Theory, perhaps you’ve heard of it? If not, let me explain.

The idea is that for each person there are about four things in life that are of the utmost importance. Work, Family, Significant Other, Spirituality for example. For some it’s Work, Friends, Significant Other, Hobbies. Whatever these four things are, we try to balance them on the stove of life, and we try to make sure they all get cooked on time without burning up or burning down the house. The flame represents the level of energy and passion that you put into whatever is on that burner.

Some say that you can’t cook everything with the same level of intensity, without burning some things or everything. Others say that at times it’s necessary to turn down or turn off a burner entirely in order to have enough energy to finish any one dish.
